Matt Mott Email: mottm@uwosh.edu Hi I’m Matt and I serve as the Career Advisor for the College of Education and Human Services and the College of Nursing. I will help you prepare for all aspects of preparing for your career. I graduated from Oshkosh (1998) with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and minor in History. While a student here, I worked as the first floor CA in Breese Hall for 4 years. Upon graduation, I packed up and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota (a year after the massive flood of the Red River of the North) to attend Graduate School. While a student, I served as a Residence Hall Director for 3 years. In the spring of 2001, I graduated with a degree in Educational Leadership (K-12 principal-ship and Higher Education Administration emphases) and also gained my teaching certifications for secondary Biology, Broadfield Science, and History. In fall 2001 I worked as a Life Science/Geography student teacher intern at Brillion Middle School. Following student teaching I spent the next few years teaching. In the summer of 2003 I was hired as an Area Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Office of Residence Life. After serving two years in that role, a fantastic opportunity developed at my Alma Mater, UW-Oshkosh. I started with Career Services in August of 2005. It has been a great experience and I love getting back into the classroom to teach about our services. The highlight of my day is when I hear that one of our CON or COEHS students have been hired. I am a member of the Wisconsin Association of School Personnel Administrators and serve as a sub committee member for the UW-Oshkosh NCA re-accreditation process. My other interests include: Spending time with my wife (a teacher) and daughter, reading, role playing and table top war games, duck/goose/turkey/deer hunting, photography, watching pro (Packers) and college (Badgers and Ohio State) football, watching pro (Red Wings) and college (University of North Dakota) hockey, and all things Batman related (except for the Joel Schumacher directed films, I refuse to admit they actually count). Thanks and stop by soon! Don’t be like me and wait until you are about to graduate to come in to Career Services! -Matt |
