Student Loan Lenders Leaving Students High & Dry?

Some lenders are leaving the student loan lending business leaving students without a provider or without a choice.  Rest assured, if you have a student loan through us, we are not going anywhere.  If you need a loan, we will be here.  Please see the letter from our President/CEO Scott Chicoine regarding student loans.

Annual Meeting Tuesday, June 10, 2008       

Save Tuesday June 10, 2008 for the UW Oshkosh Credit Union Annual Meeting.  The lunch meeting will be outside (tent if bad weather) at our Radford Square office and as always, it is FREE (who says there is no such thing as a free lunch).

Just like past years, the Red Trolley will be making the rounds on campus shuttling members back and forth so you won't have to walk or lose your campus parking spot.  At the meeting you'll hear updates on the Credit Union from staff and directors and you'll be able to vote on the election of Board Members and any other business.  Plus, there are loads of raffle prizes this year.  We'll be publishing a list in upcoming months on our website. 

You've got no excuse to miss it this year: it is a FREE lunch and we take care of the transportation!  Watch our website for more details.

UW Oshkosh Credit Union Partners with Liberty Mutual

It was announced at the annual meeting that Liberty Mutual will be working with us to offer our members even more services.  Chris will be in the Radford Square office on Thursdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, but you can contact him by phone or e-mail on the days he isn't in our office.

UW Oshkosh Credit Union Partners with Enterprise

Enterprise Rent-a-car recently purchased a car lot in Appleton near the Fox River Mall, and it should be opening some time this summer.  We partnered with them to give our members more options for buying quality used cars.  You can get a loan from us right at Enterprise.  No need to come into our office to sign paperwork, you can close the deal right at the lot.

Student Loan Lender Controversy

Student Loan lenders have been giving "kickbacks" to universities in order to gain business.  There were articles in the Oshkosh Northwestern and Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel on April 17th mentioning UW Oshkosh's involvement.

 Photo ID Scanners
Both offices now have the capability to scan a photo ID card into your account to help verify your identity.  Each time your account is brought up, your ID will show on the screen.  If you would like to have this done, please ask an employee to scan in your ID the next time you stop in to do business with us.

Employee & Community Involvement

Our employees are involved in various activities in the community. 

The most recent activity was the 2007 Polar Plunge on February 17th.  The team raised over $1,000 for Special Olympics.  There are pictures from the 2006 and 2007 plunges here.
