SERVICES AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, in conjunction with the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities, offers a variety of services and accommodations to students with disabilities based on appropriate documentation, nature of the disability, and demonstrated educational need. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Freedom of Movement Accommodations
- Accessibility map, including marked locations for parking, sidewalk cuts, and door openers.
- Remote door openers for selected doors on campus.
- Reasonable modification of residence hall environment (i.e. furniture in bedroom, bathroom facilities) and classroom setting (i.e. trapezoid tables, podiums).
- Hearing Accommodations
- State-of-the-art infrared application system in theater
- TTY and Video phones
- Hearing assistive devices for classroom settings
- Interpreters
- Visual signaling devices, i.e. fire alarms in residence halls
- Visual Accommodations
- Close circuit visual enhancement systems
- Reader/scanner (converts text to voice)
- Enlargement of notes, syllabi, and other academic documents
- Alternative electronic text books
- Talking calculators
- Learning and Other Miscellaneous Accommodations
- Testing in quiet, distraction-reduced environment
- Extended time on exams
- Permission to record in class
- Disability study lounge with modified furniture and technological assistance
- Consultation with faculty members regarding academic accommodations

- Notetakers
