Emergency Phones

There are many emergency phones located throughout campus.  These phones have a blue light on top of them and are a direct link to the University Police.

Chancellor's Walk for Safety

This is an event in which students come together to walk around campus to point out potentially dangerous spots, i.e. dim lighting, overgrown bushes, etc, and call for their repair or improvement.

The walk is an opportunity for students and university administrators to check for areas that raise potential security concerns.

CSO (Community Service Officer) Safe Walk Program
(920) 424-1212

Students, staff and faculty wanting to have an escort by Safe Walk need only call the University Police at (920) 424-1212.  The Safe Walk program will be available every day or the week.
The hours are:

Sundays thru Wednesdays
7:30pm to 2:30am

Thursdays thru Saturdays
7:30pm to 4:00am

Safe walk will be provided anywhere inside the campus boundary and to Lot 39 across the river (this one by an officer/squad when available).  At this time there is no plans to escort off of campus, but they will consider escorts that are very near our boundary.  During busy periods there may be a wait for an escort.

Escorts are provided by trained Community Service Officers working as pairs.  They are radio equipped, have training in defensive tactics, are trained and certified to carry OC (a type of pepper spray) and batons and are uniformed.

There is no cost for the service.  If you have any further questions please contact the UWO University Police at (920) 424-1212.
