Brief Biography of Mr. Splittgerber
Prior to becoming the Executive Director for Information Technology, Mr. Splittgerber served as the Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) from September 2005 to July 2006. Mr. Splittgerber has been Director of Telecommunications, Networking, and Administrative Computing since 1998. He continues this position, in addition to that of CIO. Academic Computing and Media Services also report to the CIO. Mr. Splittgerber is a graduate of UW Oshkosh (BS-Mathematics, 1973), U. S. Army War College (1997; since accredited as a master’s degree in strategic studies), and Salve Regina University (MS-Management, 2006). Mr. Splittgerber has been employed at UW Oshkosh since 1979, in the following positions: Computer Programmer in Academic Computing (1979-82); Computer Systems Programmer in Administrative Computing (1982-96; twice received the Exceptional Performance Award for non-represented classified staff—1989 and 1993); Acting Director of Telecommunications and Technical Services (1996-97); and Interim Director of Telecommunications and Applications Programming (1997-98). Mr. Splittgerber was the Associate Project Director for the PeopleSoft Student Information System implementation project. Mr. Splittgerber has served on Senator Herbert Kohl’s United States Service Academy Nominations Selection Board since 2002.
