Oshkosh Computer Based Testing
Pre-Professional Skills Test (Praxis I/ PPST):


General Information: This test is used for professional assessments for beginning teachers. The test consists of three examinations in the areas of mathematics, reading and writing.

Registration: Payment is due at the time of registration.

Note: Tests can be scheduled for different days, but must be scheduled in one transaction.

Parking: For your convenience we have five spaces in Lot #34 (Elmwood Avenue) which are reserved spaces for clients of UW Oshkosh Testing Services - a $2 permit is required (a permit can be purchased from the Information Booth in Lot #15 or in Polk Library Room 3B).

Arrival: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to appointment. Note: Please do not arrive late for your testing appointment. According to ETS guidelines we may not test you and fees will not be refunded.

Identification: You must present one of the following primary ID documents: passport, driver's license, state ID, national ID or military ID, all must have photo and signature and be current and valid. If you cannot meet the specified ID requirements or if you have questions about ID, you must contact ETS Office of Testing Integrity (1-609-406-5430).

Testing Aids: Scratch paper and pencils will be provided.

Locker: A locker is provided for your use during your testing period at no charge.

Rescheduling or Canceling an Appointment: To reschedule your appointment, call the appropriate test center or Prometric Candidate Services no later than three business days prior to your appointment. If the appointment spans more than one day, you must call three business days prior to the first test date. Business days are Monday through Saturday. Fee: $15 per test.

Repeater Policy: You may take the Computerized PPST only once per calendar month, and no more than 6 times within a 12-month period. This applies even if you canceled your scores

Study Materials Study Guides are available in reference sections of larger bookstores and at UW Oshkosh, University Books and More. UW Oshkosh students can find books on reserve in the EMC of Polk Library or for two week check-out through the Reading Study Center.
